HMS BRERETON

This is ship is HMS BRERETON she is a mine hunter,no she as not got two funnels there is another hunter at the side of her. I was very proud to have served on this ship when I was in Noble RNR crew . MY shore base was HMS EAGLET in Liverpool, I was in them for 3 years it was a sad day when you had to hand all my kit back, as work was getting in the way .I was told by my CPO to take a year out,but being daft I thought it was not going to get any better but sod law it did a year later I was at a new firm that would let you have the time of for your dutes if you like to see me as i was when on this ship the you can click hereME

I Was In Noble RNR Crew

I remember one sea trip that we had gone out on ,we did some mine hunting training out in the Irish sea then headed of to Douglas for an over night .we got to Douglas harbour at about 19.00 I was one that got shore leave of we went to get some wets we ran to the pub had a few drinks set of back to the ship we arrived at what we thought was the dock that we were dock at no ship could be seen after about hour of looking for the ship we found it we forgot that the tide was out .yes we was on the wrong dock she was on the other side.on arriving at HMS BRERETON a P/O was on watch so he grabed my arm and pulled us aboard .the next day we got some stick I hand to empty the IFB with a cup it took me some time to empty it out i was glad though I had a bit of an hangover
